The first week of our topic has really taken off this week. Well done to all of the children for being so enthusiastic with their learning this week. We enjoyed an African feast on Wednesday afternoon and learned about some traditional African foods such as mealie pap, rusk biscuits, boerewors sausage and rooibos tea.
We’ve also started learning a new story called Handa’s Surprise which features some exotic fruits so we have use this as an excuse to try some of them ourselves; we’ve learned about mangoes, passion fruits, avacados and guavas.
In other news, we had a lovely welly walk yesterday afternoon and soaked up the afternoon sunshine whilst walking around Southill’s grounds.
Hope everyone has a good weekend before more fun next week!
