Class Two have been giving directions to each other and to the Bee-bots to help them find their way around the woods with Hansel and Gretel. They had to programme the Bee-bots, by putting in a set of instructions in the correct order, to enable them to move around the obstacles to a given point. more »
Class Two had the pleasure of visiting the Life Education van today where they learnt all about the body, how to stay healthy as well as recognising, naming and understanding feelings. They even got to meet Harold the giraffe! Have a look at the photos of us below.
This week the children have been working with Miss Aitken to create a 3D sculpture of White Horse hill. Have a look at their progress so far and don’t forget to come along to the exhibition on Friday to see the finished masterpiece!
Today, we have been learning about perspective in art. The children had a go at creating a picture with a foreground, middle ground and background. They then drew three objects, one large, one medium and one small, and had a go at placing them correctly on their picture. Have a look and see.
On Tuesday the children looked at seaside paintings by Homer and Turner. They compared the lines, shapes and colours used in stormy paintings compared to calm paintings. They then experimented with their own lines, shapes and colours to create calm and stormy pictures using shades and tints. Have a look at the photos below.
On Monday the children worked reciprocally to design make and paint their own 3D ice lolly sculptures. Have a look at the photos below and don’t forget to come to the exhibition on Friday to see the real thing!
We weren’t measuring how loud we could be in Class Two last week but we were measuring volume in a different way! The children were learning to estimate, measure and compare the volume of containers.
