Carey Camp (Day 2)
After roasting marshmallows on the bonfire, the children were tucked up in their tents for the night. They woke up as the sun rose (at 4.45am) excited for yet another day of adventures…
We began the morning with a delicious cooked breakfast, cereal and some orange juice. It was then time for the most difficult, challenging task of all…packing!
Once the bags were packed, children worked in groups in order to make shelters in the woods. They had to be reciprocal and discuss the best way to be sheltered from the weather and wild animals. We were blown away with the creativity and determination. The children were focused for nearly two hours (and wanted to keep building). They all created a shelter to be proud of.
After a spot of lunch in the midday sunshine, sadly it was time to depart. The children were an absolute pleasure to take to Carey and we cannot wait to share our trip with everybody in our assembly next Thursday.
