Happiness in Unit Two
What an amazing final day before half term. The children all participated in a wide range of activities across the school in their teams (Dragon, Pegasus, Griffin and Phoenix).
As each team visited Unit Two, they were in for a treat! First, they were split into two groups and half of the class were relaxing with Mrs Hill through Yoga. The activity encouraged them to live an active and healthy lifestyle and really control their breathing, especially when they are feeling angry, frustrated or stressed. The children had to use their bodies in order to follow the wide range of stretches and balances which helped them to relax and feel rejuvenated.
Meanwhile, Mr. Prior was helping the children understand the difference between positivity and negativity. We looked at how negativity can spread like a disease through drama. The children had to enter a range of different scenes and explain whether they were feeling positive or negative and why. From a classroom to a bus stop, cinema to a beach, the children really had to think creatively in order to become a person in our drama performance.
A hugely successful afternoon where children received ‘Badges of Bravery’ and Sienna in Year One even managed to earn a ‘Medal for Magnificence’.
Well done everybody!
