Southill Benchball Competition

Southill Benchball Competition

On an extremely windy Wednesday, Year 4 played their final benchball matches in order to crown the champions of this very competitive sport. Each team would face one another twice and the two teams with the most points at the end would then face off in the final.

The wild weather resulted in teams having to think carefully about their positioning and strategy during games. It was extremely competitive and a number of games were won in the final few seconds, However after the scores were all counted and verified, it was revealed that the final would be between Phoenix and Griffin.

The final was action-packed, however team Griffin prevailed, meaning that they were crowned Benchball Champions 2022! Nevertheless, all teams played their part in what was a great way to end the half term.

We have had a blast learning about this sport. It develops children’s sporting prowess in a variety of ways:

-Hand-eye co-ordination

-Teamwork

-Tactics

-Agility

-Balance

-Sportsmanship
