St Ives – Day 3

Cowabunga! What a brilliant day! We had a leisurely breakfast and then walked down to Porthmeor Beach to the St Ives Surf School. Everyone got kitted out in wetsuit and rash vest and then it was time to warm up with some games and learn about how to stay safe in the water and how to stand up on the surfboard. The instructors from the surf school were amazing, the water was warm and the children were just fantastic. Everyone got in and had a go and actually stayed in for the entire 2 hour session. They were awesome! We were so proud of their resilience and reciprocity – everyone was supporting each other and cheering them on. Well done Southill Primary! The instructors praised the children for their manners and attitudes and said we were a lovely group to work with.

In the afternoon, we relaxed on the beach and played some games, paddled in the sea or went to the souvenir shops.

Dinner was delicious fresh pizza which was devoured by all and we are just about to head out on a walk. It’s a beautiful evening here in St Ives.
