What lives in a pond?

As part of our science project, Animal Survival, we spent a lovely afternoon out in the sunshine in our beautiful grounds exploring life in a microhabitat. We found so many amazing invertebrates including; pond skaters, waterboatmen, rams horn pond snails, dragonfly nymphs, dragonflies, damselflies, damselfly nymphs, mayfly nymphs, a couple of tiny newts and loads of tadpoles! The children were amazed and facinated. What a great afternoon year 2.
