Towering Times in Year Two

It’s been another great week in Class Two. Well done everyone.

We started the week looking at and comparing towers from around the world. We used atlases to locate each one and then created a key so we could label them on a world map.

On Tuesday afternoon, we went outside to make our own towers using natural materials. Have a look at our wonderful creations below.

In PE, we practised firing arrows through arrow loops (throwing beanbags into hoops), crawling under the closing porcullis (crawling under the parachute), balancing along the drawbridge (balancing along skipping ropes) and jumping over the moat (jumping between the cones.) Have a look below.

In English, we’ve continued to learn and retell the story of ‘Billy the Brave Knight’ and found out about the use of time connectives and adjectives.

In Maths, we’ve been continuing our learning about the value of each digit in a two digit number as well as comparing and ordering numbers.

We’ve been impressed with how reciprocal the children have been this week; learning with their buddies, playing games, taking turns, talking and reading together.

Well done Class Two. We hope you all have a restful weekend and we look forward to more fun next week.
