Can you tell your igneous rock from your metamorphic and sedimentary rock ? No ?

Well come and talk to the Year 3 geologist who have been hard at work investigating different rocks in the school’s garden today.

Is the rock: shiny or dull?  Does it have layers?  Is there a fossil in the rock?  Is it soft or hard, permeable or impermeable?  Can you see any crystals in the rock?
