Solar Stills and Saturation!

Another week in Year 5, another week of spectacular, resourceful science learning!  This week we have set ourselves challenges to explore soluble and insoluble materials, we have revisited the water cycle and made a solar still to evaporate water from salt and we have investigated what happens if we add too much sugar to water – it saturates!  Phew, what a glossary we are developing in Year 5!

Ask us what these words mean as we’ve worked hard to remember!

solvent

solute

reversible

irreversible

solution

dissolved

insoluble

saturated

This was so fun!cant wait to look at them again,I have been checking the saturation things everyday!

It was really fascinating to see how the water Evapperate and condense.🧊
