Sketching in the Sunshine
After a busy and bustling week filled with learning, laughter, and lively activity, Year 5 decided it was time to slow down and embrace a moment of peace and tranquility. What better way to unwind than by stepping outside and letting nature inspire us?
Armed with our sketchbooks and pencils, we headed out into our beautiful school grounds, ready to immerse ourselves in the calm of the natural world. The sun was shining gently overhead as we found quiet spots beneath trees, beside hedges, and among flowerbeds.
From twisting ivy climbing up brick walls to towering trees casting dappled shadows on the grass, and from delicate daisies to leaves in every shape and size, there was inspiration everywhere we looked. The children settled down quietly, fully absorbed in observing the little details of the world around them.
There was a quiet buzz of focus as pencils moved across paper. Some sketched sweeping branches or clusters of wildflowers, while others captured the intricate patterns on a single leaf. It was a joy to watch creativity blossom in such a peaceful setting.
The afternoon sunshine, the gentle rustling of leaves, and the soft hum of bees created a serene atmosphere that allowed everyone to relax, reflect, and reconnect.
It was a gentle reminder of the beauty that surrounds us every day—and of the importance of taking time to pause, breathe, and appreciate the simple things.
