Weekly Update from Caroline

Hello everyone,

Welcome to this week’s update from Southill Primary! Each week, I use this space to celebrate our achievements and keep you informed about what’s coming up.

This Week’s Highlights
Despite the hot weather, our pupils and staff have shown fantastic resilience. Well done to everyone for coming in prepared and staying positive!

  • Year 2 enjoyed a well-earned Dojo reward with a fun afternoon at our local park.
  • Year 4 pupils represented our school brilliantly at the rounders festival – great teamwork!
  • Year 6 had three fun-filled days at Primary College in Weymouth, taking part in a range of exciting activities.

Looking Ahead to Next Week
Here are some of the fantastic things happening next week:

  • Monday: Our much-anticipated Ringos trip for children who have read over a million words, or have shown exceptional commitment to reading. Well done to all involved!
  • Tuesday to Friday: Year 5 are heading off to St Briavels for a four-day adventure, including canoeing and lots of other exciting activities. Have a wonderful time, Year 5!
  • Friday: End-of-year reports will be sent home.

Hot Weather Reminder ☀️

The forecast shows we’re in for more hot weather next week. To help everyone stay safe and comfortable:

  • Children are welcome to wear their PE kits if they’ll be cooler.
  • Please ensure your child brings a named water bottle and sun hat each day.
  • Apply sun cream before school each morning.
  • We’ll be encouraging regular water breaks and seeking shade during outdoor activities.

Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Have a happy and relaxing weekend!

Best wishes,

Caroline
