16th June

Tuesday Tasks

Phonics: Letters and Sounds lesson 36. Adjacent consonants in words, reviewing sounds and tricky words.

Picture of the day: Look at this beautiful photograph, looking up through the trees. What colours can you see? How would you describe the sun? Can you write a sentence with the word and joining two ideas together? Try starting your sentence with: The……… I can see………  Look at………… I like…….

Maths: Activity card today is looking at paths.

Today you will need to collect some resources such as flat shapes (at home this could be card cut into shapes, lids of plastic pots, square tiles, flat lego pieces/baseboards, coasters or table mats). We are going to explore using these objects to make paths. Look at the ideas on this activity card and have fun making and talking about your paths. Why not use them for some small characters? You could try this outside too. I like the idea of trying to record your path on paper -how could you do this?

Other Activities

Dinosaur Play: In our story, Stanley pretended that his stick was a dinosaur! Why not get the toy dinosaurs out today with some rocks and pebbles and make up some adventures with them. They could even visit outside and play in the trees!

If you do not have any dinosaurs at home you could use other animals or make some puppet or stick dinosaurs. Draw a dinosaur, cut it out and stick on to a lolly stick or straw.

Getting Outside

Wild Stick activities: Go outside to find some sticks. Can you make some pictures with the sticks? Here are a few ideas to get you started. At school, collect a few small sticks to take back in to keep in your tray for this week. At home, collect some sticks ready for later in the week.

Reading: Why not read a book whilst you are outside too.

Tomorrow, some playdough fun
