Funny Friday!

We have had a great week finding out how many exciting things we can do with sticks! Have a fun Friday!

Phonics: Letters and Sounds – lesson 39 (longer words)

Picture of the day: An interesting picture to talk about today to share your ideas. I wonder what is happening?

Who is climbing the tree? Why?
Why is there a tree in the ocean?
How do you know that it’s an ocean?
Who is on the boat in the distance?

Can you write sentences to answer these questions, starting with words such as A…….  The…….  I……. There……   Sound out each word as you write and look out for tricky words too.

Maths: Final activity card this week – it’s all about estimating. Have some fun with this today, then look at the second card for ideas on developing the activity. To start with, adults just need to provide a clear glass/plastic jar with a number of small items in.

Other Activities

Moving to the Music!

Just Sing!

Sticks as paintbrushes: If you have any sticks left from your collections, try using them as paintbrushes today. here are a few ideas.

Getting Outside: Try to go out on a nature walk today and look at the wonderful tress around us. Try standing under a tree and looking up through the branches and leaves. Find tall trees and short trees to compare. Have you got a favourite tree? Sit and read a story under a tree. If you would like to, try sketching a picture of a tree -just use a pencil on your paper.

Well done for another great week of learning – remember you can try any of the activities from this week again. Re-visiting activities is a great way to build on your learning and experiences.

Have a great weekend.
