Home Learning

20th May

Wonderful Wednesday!

Picture of the day: A pet picture for you to look at today -talk about what you can see in the picture, then try writing about it. Top Tip – encourage your child to sound out words using sounds they know. They might not yet know that rabbit has a double b in the middle or that eating has an ea sound instead of an ee sound. That’s fine – just encourage great sounding out.

Sentence starter ideas: They are……… (use tricky words on sound mat), The rabbits are……….    I can see……..

Phonics: Letters and sounds lesson 13. Look out for this sound in our book of the week!

Phase 4 Challenge: Can you write words to match these pictures? Remember to listen for the letter blend at the beginning of each word. Use a phoneme frame to help and draw the pictures if you want to.

Reading Challenge: Try this challenge today.

Talk about a favourite character in a book – it could be one in Hairy Maclary.

Which one is your favourite and why – Can you describe the character?
