22nd April

Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday!

Picture of the day: There is a long word to write today – just sound it out and write down all the sounds you can hear. Remember the top tips from Monday and Tuesday and enjoy your writing time.

Phonics: Here are some more words with letter blends at the end. We sometimes call these CVCC (consonant, vowel, consonant, consonant) words. The children can already tell you the vowels (a, e, i, o, u). Again , sound them out and write them in a phoneme frame. These words all have 4 sounds (phonemes) in them.

Craft time: On a Wednesday afternoon we like to have a session for developing our ‘fine motor’ skills – using our hands and fingers to make them strong – this helps us with our writing. Why not have a go at making things from household objects such a toilet roll tubes – here are some fun ideas you could try.

You could make some miniature houses…

Or your favourite animal from Rumble in the Jungle…

Or even a whole jungle scene!

Song of the day: A song called ‘This is Me’ today – celebrating how special you are, with some great ideas for activities too – don’t forget to click on the activities link too for more fun.
