Writing

Rewatch the video Road’s End.

Write a newspaper report about what happened. Assuming the driver who picked up the mysterious stranger survived the crash, what do you think he would say to a reporter (you!) when interviewed from his hospital bed about the incident? Were there any other witnesses?

Think carefully about the features of a news report when planning your account. Have a look at a real news report: what tense is it written in? How is it sequenced? How are sentences and paragraphs linked together? Make sure you answer the following questions: who, what, why, when , where and how.  Set out your report as if it was in a real newspaper and include an illustration. Okay news hounds, start writing tomorrow’s front page news!
