Easter Holidays Home Learning

Hooray it’s time for a lovely, long break! The children have been working hard and are in need of a rest but over the holidays please make sure you do as much reading as you can. Log it in the Reading Record. Remember “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Reading helps us with absolutely everything – that’s why reading is the most important thing you can do to help your child do well at school.

Our new project is called Urban Pioneers. It’s a Geography project with lots of Science and Art thrown in. There are two suggested novels that go with this project. The Family from One End Street by Eve Garnett and Emil and the Detectives by Erich Kästner. It would be great if you could read or listen to these together at home.

Children have brought home a Knowledge Organiser so please take some time to look at that together over the next couple of weeks and here are some optional activities that will help your child get ahead with the project. Don’t forget we always love to see anything you have done at home.

We will be back to our regular spelling and maths tests when we return. Here are the details for the test on Friday 29th April.

Super Spellers: grass, pass, bath, path, people

Sparkly Spellers: imagine, increase, important, interest, island

Maths:  8x table (first 6 multiples)  ie  1 x 8 = 8    2 x 8 = 16     3 x 8 = 24   4 x 8 = 32     5 x 8 = 40     6 x 8 = 48
