Instructions
As you know we have been learning all about instructions. Please support at home this week by following some instructions of your own, this could be making a sandwich, brushing your teeth or following a recipe. Any thing that you like!
We have been learning about verbs and nouns in class, focusing on how the verb is the action word. Please reinforce this at home and focus on retelling these using the time connectives ‘First, Next, After that, Then and Finally’.
If you are able to, please bring or email me a photo ready to be discussed in our class assemblies next week.
Maths
This week we have been looking at addition and subtraction word problems. We have been focusing on reading them carefully and listening out for words that help us know whether to add or subtract. For example if we read the words ‘altogether’ or ‘total’ we know we need to add, but if we read ‘how many are left’ or ‘how many are there now’ we know we need to subtract.
You can support at home by working through some word problems focuses specifically on the operation, are we adding or subtracting? How do you know? I have attached some below or you could make up some of your own!!
