Spellings

This weeks spellings are words from the Year 1 common exception words list.

We have looked at these before, but we are still finding them very tricky. Especially when they are in a sentence. These words look and sound similar, so it is important to emphasise with ones have a ‘h’ in them.

Maths

Next week we will be moving onto look at numbers up to 50 in more detail. Focusing specifically on tens and ones. To support at home, use your number square to find numbers up to 50.

It is vital that children are seeing and writing 2 digit numbers the correct way around, as we know that each number has a different meaning. Representing tens and ones.

To support at home, watch this video together. It gives an introduction into how numbers are broken down with an emphasis on counting into ones until you reach 10.

Thanks for your continued support at home.
