Reading

Reading underpins all of our learning and development and is great for our imagination! Please read your book daily and to an adult at home regularly, recording all reading in your reading record. If you have a Lexia account, please access it here: Lexia access

Well done to Mason and Lillie who smashed their target times on Lexia last week!  We wonder who can complete the full 80 minutes over the holidays?!

This week’s words to learn are:

Parents: all words are selected from the age-appropriate National Curriculum lists, these are words your child has to know by the end of Year 5.   Please encourage them to practice at home during the week, and carry out an occasional test to prepare them for Friday morning.  The tests are linked to spelling objectives and learning during the week.

Mental Maths

This week the children will be tested on:

6x and 7x tables facts

The children will be tested on all 6x and 7x times tables facts from:  1 x 6 = 6 up to 12 x 7 = 84

Please also remember to complete 20 minutes of sessions in Garage on TT Rockstars!

On Friday after school, please ask your child their score, we’ll send it home on a slip of paper.

Holiday Home Learning!

Next term we will begin our new topic – Scream Machine!  Watch out for more information coming on the website soon!

Over the holidays however, you could always complete some of these ideas to help you prepare and find out a little bit about what the topic involves.  These are not compulsory but are really great fun and we would love to see any you complete in the new year.  Please also have a look at the reading list for the topic, there could be some books on here to ask Father Christmas for!
