This week we would like your child to practise adding 3 single digit numbers in the most efficient way possible. For example: instead of adding these 3 digits in order: 5 + 3 + 5  – the more efficient way would be to add the two 5s first to make 10 then add the 3  = 13. Here’s another example: 2 + 6 + 2 … double 2 is 4  .. 4 and 6 is a number bond of 10.

To generate 3 single digits your child could:

..  make 2 sets of cards 1-9, shuffle them then choose 3 to add.
