English Task

Today, we’d like you to continue to read the story ‘The Myth of Pandora’s Box’ using the link below and pause to complete the first activity in your writing book. Again, try to describe what you think might be inside the box using adjectives and maybe even some similes!

Then continue to read the story and again complete the activity on a piece of paper or in your writing book. Use your imagination or ideas from other stories you have read.

Day 2

Arithmetic task

Ask an adult to ask you these questions and see how quickly you can answer. Then, have another go and see if you can answer even quicker.

How many fives make 20?

How many fives make 50?

How many fives make 10?

How many fives make 30?

How many fives make 40?

How many fives make 60?

Maths task

We have been asked to provide the answers for the Workbook pages from the previous day so you can check your learning and mark it. Here they are:

Today we would like you to have a go at Maths No Problem Lesson 6 on page 97 of the Textbook (we have skipped lesson 5 intentionally.) This lesson is all about making and recognising patterns using 3D shapes.

Have a go at the ‘In Focus’ task and then look at the ‘Let’s Learn’ to see how they have solved it. You could use some of the 3D shapes you found yesterday to make some of your own patterns.

Then have a go at pages 81-83 in your Workbook. We’ll post the answers tomorrow.

Topic Task

Our new topic is called ‘Wriggle and Crawl’ and we’d like you to go outside, either during your daily exercise or in your garden if you have one, and look for mini-beasts.

See what creatures you can find and think about where you find them. Where do they live? We call this their habitat. Why do you think they live there? Talk to someone about it.

If you have a small mirror, you could take this with you so you can take a sneaky peek into holes and crevices.  Try lifting stones and logs and clear away leaf litter to see what you can find. You could even use a small net to sweep beneath the surface of puddles to see what you can find.

You could sketch the mini-beasts you find, take photos or try to identify and name them.

Please don’t forget to return all mini-beasts to their natural habitat and to wash your hands when you have finished.
