Phonics

Thanks for your emails – lots of you have enjoyed trying a new activity this week. Today the activity is the same. The sound is ‘ee’.

Remember to focus specifically on applying the correct grapheme that makes the ‘ee’ sound. If you cannot print this it isn’t a problem. Just look at the pictures together and write the words in your writing book.

Reading

It is still important to read at home. 10 – 15 minutes each day will continue to make a big difference to your child’s reading. If you would like to swap your books please email Mrs Woods who will arrange this for you.

Her email address is    cwood@southill.dorset.sch.uk

English/Topic

Watch the Video below – you might have the book at home to read together instead -. It it the Tiger Who Came to Tea. You might be able to find the short film that was made on channel 4, I could only find the trailer – sorry!

Can you write a list of things that the Tiger could eat if he came to your house for tea? Really focus on using your sound mat, stretching out all sounds in words. Perhaps you could look through your fridge and write a list? What might you like to make for the tiger – do you have a favourite dinner that you would cook for him?

Maths

Below are some o’clock and half past work sheets. Please do not worry if you are not able to print them, you can just write the times in your home learning book and then have a go at drawing the hands by drawing some clocks first.

This activity is to consolidate the learning over the past few days and give the children a bit more practice at both reading and representing the time.
