A Magical Morning with Author Justyn Edwards

This week, Year 4 had an extraordinary treat—a visit from the brilliant author Justyn Edwards! He is the mastermind behind the Great Fox series, a collection of thrilling books filled with magic, mystery, and adventure. The first of the series is even set right here in Weymouth!

Meet Justyn Edwards

Justyn Edwards is a children’s author who lives in Cornwall with his wife and two cats. Before becoming a writer, he studied archaeology and worked in various jobs, including as a caravan park attendant and a software engineer. His love for magic shows inspired him to write stories where the real magic lies in the storytelling itself. 

A Magical Assembly

Our day began with an exciting assembly where Justyn shared his journey to becoming an author. He captivated us with a live magic trick that left everyone in awe! He explained how magic and storytelling are similar—both involve surprises and keeping secrets until just the right moment.

Creative Writing Workshop

After the assembly, Justyn led a creative writing workshop. He encouraged us to think like magicians when writing stories—planning surprises and twists to keep readers engaged. We brainstormed ideas, created intriguing characters, and started crafting our own magical tales.

Inspiration All Around

Justyn’s visit was truly inspiring. He showed us that with imagination and creativity, we can all be storytellers. Many of us are now eager to read his books and continue writing our own stories.
