Artists, architects and aquatic creatures!

This week, let’s celebrate artists, architects and aquatic creatures in our reception class.

Artists

To create our amazing ‘under the sea’ pictures we drew various sea creatures using our crayon rocks (wax crayons). We made sure we pressed hard to show the bright colours. Then we used a paint wash to add the sea, which washed over our drawings. Here we are in action. We will be bringing our pictures home soon.

Architects

Our challenge was to build amazing bridges and we certainly rose to the challenge. Some of us chose to work on our own and some of us worked in teams. There were many shapes and sizes and bridges for different purposes. Some were even decorated! We tested out the bridges with toy people and cars. What do you think of our bridges?

Aquatic Creatures

We had great fun creating our own mermaids and mermen! We used small world characters, playdough and plenty of sparkles! We hope you enjoy looking at our collection.

We also used loose parts to create jellyfish – we used shells, ribbons and jewels. Don’t they look amazing?

What a fantastic half term beside the seaside! Well done Reception.
