Basketball Competition at Atlantic Academy

Basketball Competition at Atlantic Academy

After attending a basketball skills day in December, the same children made their way back to Atlantic in order to put the skills and drills into practice! The children participated in 7 matches in today and here is how they got on:

Southill 3 – 0 St Nicholas and St Laurence

Southill 0 – 2 Bincombe Valley

Southill 5 – 1 Atlantic Academy

Southill 7 – 2 Wyke Regis

Southill 2 – 0 Radipole Primary

Southill 1 – 3 Conifers Primary

Southill 0 – 0 Holy Trinity

Southill successfully won 4 matches, drew one match and only narrowly lost two matches.

Overall, I am so proud of the team. They showed determination, grit and a real desire to win. They were very unlucky not to come away the victors this afternoon. In some respects however, they were victorious as they had an entire afternoon centered around sport and they played magnificently as a team. I was also extremely proud of the fact that Southill had both boys and girls representing the school as other schools only chose to give boys the opportunity to compete in the event.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Dredge and Mrs. Linaker who very kindly helped transport the children over to Atlantic. We really value your support!

Mr. P
