We’ve had a wonderful week here at Southill Primary, blessed with beautiful weather that’s brought smiles to everyone’s faces. As we enjoy the sunshine, please remember to continue sending water bottles, hats and suncream with your children daily throughout the summer term to keep them safe and comfortable.
Parent Consultation Evenings
A big thank you to all parents who attended our consultation meetings this week. These discussions are crucial for ensuring every child’s success by the end of the summer term. If you couldn’t make it, please get in touch with your child’s class teacher to schedule a convenient time to meet.
Celebrating Progress
I have also met with all the teachers to discuss children’s progress and I’m thrilled to report that we have seen incredible progress from the pupils this spring term. A big well done to our amazing children and dedicated staff for their hard work and achievements!
Looking Ahead to Next Week:
- Bank Holiday: Please note that the school will be closed on Monday for the Bank Holiday.
- Maths Day (Tuesday): We’re excited for Maths Day, where children are welcome to dress up, although it’s not mandatory. If your child prefers not to dress up, they can wear their school uniform or PE kit.
- VE Day Commemoration
On Friday, we’ll be commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day. For more details, please check out my previous blog post.
Exciting Opportunities
You might have noticed on our website and Facebook page that we’re currently hiring class teachers. Some staff are on fixed-term contracts that end in July, and the overwhelming number of applications we’ve received truly highlights the special place Southill Primary is. Visitors have been impressed by our learning environment, ethos and most importantly, our wonderful children. Next week, the governors, Matt and I will be interviewing both internal and external candidates. We hope to have everything settled by the end of the week. We’ll keep you updated on class allocations for next year as soon as possible, as we know this helps children prepare for their new classes.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the Bank Holiday!
