A Fantastic Week of Personal Development at Southill Primary!
Wow! What an incredible week it has been for children’s personal development here at Southill Primary. Our pupils have embraced a wide range of enriching experiences, both inside and outside the classroom.
Trips and Special Activities
Year 4 enjoyed an adventurous day out at Dorset Water Park.
Reception class visited Vurlands Farm, meeting animals and learning about farm life.
Year 3 explored Tumbledown Farm, getting hands-on with nature.
Sporting Success
Every pupil took part in a fantastic sports afternoon tailored to their key stage. Team spirit, determination and lots of smiles made these events a real highlight of the week!
Celebrating Learning
Year 2 curated a wonderful museum all about The Great Fire of London, showcasing their knowledge and creativity.
Year 3 became published authors during a special workshop with The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares – well done to all our budding writers!
Clubs and Enrichment
Our after-school clubs have been buzzing with activity this week:
- Rebel Reading Society
- Y1/2 Football Club
- Karate Club
- Y6 Rock Band
Keeping Safe
We made sure everyone is confident about what to do in an emergency by holding a fire drill. All pupils and staff responded brilliantly—well done!
Community Spirit
A huge thank you to FOSS (Friends of Southill School) for raising vital funds through selling refreshments at our sports afternoons and the Camp Bestival tickets prize draw.
We also held the first meeting of our Music Studio Working Party at Friday lunchtime – exciting times ahead for music at Southill!
Looking Ahead to Next Week:
Tuesday afternoon: Transition Afternoon – children will spend time with their new teachers and in their new classrooms.
Thursday, 3.15pm: Short parent info session about the Y5 residential to St Briavels.
Friday, 3.15pm: FOSS Summer Fest – join us for an afternoon of fun and celebration!
