Forest School has landed!

What an amazing afternoon!  The sun came out and we were off!  Friendship bracelets were made while getting to know someone new in the group.  Forest School animal names and associated actions were chosen;  Anaconda, Fly, Deer and Armadillo, to name but a few!

We discussed how we can stay safe at Forest School; the children very sensibly decided on what the boundaries were going to be for the rest of the session.

Then we were off on a nature treasure hunt.  Bear (Mrs Butler), had chosen 6 items from the woodland area and gave each team 20 seconds to memorise the interesting objects before everyone was sent off to find the same ‘treasure’.  The sycamore was the trickiest treasure to find.

After a few more game, it was time for some child initiated play.  The muddy kitchen was really popular and all sorts of cafes were serving some very interesting delicacies including a fondant covered delight.  It was so lovely to hear the squeals of excitement coming from the woodland walk.

The 2 hours whizzed by and before we knew it, we were reflecting on the afternoon and planning next week’s activities.
