Goodbye Year 4!

Goodbye Year 4!

And that’s it. Another year gone and what a year it’s been. A huge thank you from Mrs Wallis, Mrs Murray and I for our lovely cards and gifts. We’ve had a great last few days playing Water Pong, Mario Kart and Fifa, card games, colouring and even had a long play outdoors. There’s also been a fair few sweet treats to treasure (yum). We all hope you have a lovely summer everybody!

Looking back at this year,

It’s hard to summarise it in a page.

It seems very surreal that,

it has reached its final stage.

These kids have something you cannot teach,

They have improved in concentration, mindset and grit.

They have pushed themselves to the absolute max,

And that’s the end of it.

I’ve watched your children achieve and grow,

And improve day-by-day.

We hope that all the things we’ve done,

Have helped in some small way.

We’ve had a blast this year,

You’ve tried with all your might.

Our Year 4 disco after school was epic,

You danced way into the night.

And then who can forget our trip to London,

Where we learnt all about Shakespeare’s plays.

It was rather cold on the Golden Hinde,

and we were shivering for days.

But let’s not forget our Macbeth performance,

Where you delivered an incredible production.

You acted, sang and knocked it out the park,

by following every instruction.

We’ve learnt so much during our topic lessons,

Who can forget Bottoms, Burps and Bile.

your song about the digestive system,

was hilarious but rather vile!

I really loved our Sports Day,

We put your resilience to the test.

Seeing you all compete whilst still showing sportsmanship,

Just highlights why you’re the best!

To round off our adventures in style,

We went to New Barn to learn about Traders and Raiders.

We even went onto the top field,

and became Anglos and Norman invaders.

My favourite part this year however,

Is getting to know all of you.

You all mean the world to me,

And I hope you feel the same too.

It’s with real happy memories,

That we’ll send them out the door.

With great hope and expectations,

For what Year 5 will hold in store.

I’m so happy I got to be your teacher,

I’ve come to love you so.

I can’t believe the end is near,

How fast did that time go?

One thing I’ve tried to teach you,

To last your whole life through.

Is to know that you are awesome,

Just because, you are you!

Remember that although I’m no longer your teacher,

You can always come back and see me.

Telling me about your adventures in Year 5,

Would make me as happy as can be.

I hope you enjoy your summer,

The year has reached its end.

Mr. Prior’s class…you are dismissed,

It’s time to drive your parents around the bend…

Thanks so much Mr Prior – Oliver has truly loved every second of year 4! Thanks for making the learning so much fun, it’s been a year of great memories that I’m sure they will never forget…I may have just shed a little tear reading your poem, they are such a fab bunch, just growing up too fast.
    Have a great summer everyone!

Yep, that poem had me in tears! Thank you, Izzy has had the best year ever (her words!) and had an absolute blast. They’ve really needed the downtime of the last few days at school, with lots of fun.
