Installation Art.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our Art project, Nature’s Art, in Year 5 this week. We started the week learning about ‘Land Art’ and how this can be created using natural materials and forms in the land and nature around us. So we then worked in pairs and used iPads to explore our grounds and take photos of materials and objects we feel could form part of ‘Land Art’.

Taking this learning further, we then looked at the works of Land Artists such as Andy Goldsworthy, Robert Smithson and Rebecca Louise Law, looking at how they use natural materials and land and earth forms to create pieces of art.

We were inspired to create our own art Installations – using natural materials to create Land Art inside – so used our sketchbooks to design and plan an Installation using materials and land forms from our own school grounds.

Have a look at our reciprocity and resourcefulness using our materials to create a lovely Installation Art Gallery in the classroom! Let us know in the comments below which is your favourite and why!
