Reading Assembly

Miss Curtis hosted our last Reading Assembly for this half-term today by reading The Bathroom Boogie by Clare Foges, a story that we all had a giggle at!  The Power Shower (who brings shower’s happy hour) the Shampoo (who rinses and repeats) and the flannels (who all wiggle to the boogie) were among our favourite parts of the story.  We also really enjoyed watching a video which turns the story into a song too:

Miss Curtis then revealed that this was her second favourite book, her first being The Kitchen Disco by the same author.  There are many similarities between the two stories, both equally as amusing and also very popular amongst our Year 1 class…  so much so in fact that they decided to create their very own ‘Cracking Good Reads’ digital book review video as part of our Bookflix project.  Take a look!

As with all Cracking Good Reads recommendations, this book has  been added to our Bookflix ‘Top Picks’ collection and is now available to borrow, a pupil from Year 3 became the first person to borrow it.  He was very pleased!

Thank you to Miss Curtis for such a delightful, interactive Reading Assembly, so many of us are looking forward to borrowing this book and well done to Year 1 for your fantastic video too.

The reading buzz was very much alive in our hall this afternoon, reading for pleasure in perhaps one of it’s finest and most exciting examples.  We all had something to smile about!
