Year 4 Rounders Tournament – A Day of Teamwork and Resilience
After being postponed earlier in the term due to rain (what even is that?), the Year 4 rounders tournament was finally rescheduled—and the children were ready and raring to go!
There were no skills-based drills to begin with, so the pupils went straight into matches, which proved a little tricky at first. However, with expert coaching and encouragement from Mrs Murray on the sidelines, it wasn’t long before the children got to grips with the rules and began working effectively as a team.
Despite narrowly losing their first three games (one by just half a rounder!), the children showed fantastic resilience and determination. They bounced back brilliantly, winning two out of their final three matches.
Congratulations to Wyke Regis, who emerged as overall champions, and a huge well done to our Southill pupils who represented the school with pride and demonstrated true bouncebackability throughout the event.
A big thank you to the Year 9 Budmouth students for refereeing the matches, to Jo Ray for organising such a brilliant sporting event, and to Mrs Murray for her invaluable support and coaching throughout the day.
