Reception RSPB Visit

What a fantastic afternoon as nature detectives at the RSPB reserve in Weymouth. We walked all the way there, looking out for interesting things along the way.

Once we arrived there, we were met by two members of staff who took us on a walk around the reserve. We had some spotter sheets of birds to look out for. Some of the birds we saw were coots, ducks, swans, cormorants and blackbirds.

Then we went to a bird hide and used binoculars to spot birds on the water.

After that we played a game where we had to collect worms (wool) using spoons, like a spoonbill. Then we tried using pegs, like a blackbird. It was easier as a blackbird.

We finished off with a chat back at the visitor centre. What a great afternoon. Thanks Reception class. A big thankyou to our adults (from Mrs Puddick) – Mrs kench, Mrs Wood, Mrs Hill, Mrs Lockwood and Lisa.

It’s so great you took them to do this together, I know they were so excited and I’m sure super tired as a result of all that fun
