Southill Girls vs Atlantic Academy

Atlantic Academy very kindly asked if we would also like to organise a match for the girls team after the success of the boy’s match last week and we, of course, were up for the challenge…

It turned out to be a truly sensational (and scorching hot) contest between two well-drilled teams. After going 1-0 down in the opening few stages, the girls didn’t panic or give up. Instead, it gave them the steely determination and fire in their bellies to turn it around. The girls kept possession for most of the half and this resulted in goals galore! In fact, at half time the score was Southill 5 – 2 Atlantic.

In the second half, the girls began to play some really attractive football. They found their rhythm and soon began to spray passes around the pitch to draw the Atlantic players out of position. This confidence along with their persistence in winning the ball back quickly meant that the final score ended in…

Southill 9 – 2 Atlantic 

Goal scorers were: Isabelle (2), Lucie (2), Sofia (3), Sophie (1) and Ellouise (1). What was so impressive about today’s performance is the nature of the goals we scored. Every goal required patient build-up play, teamwork and accurate passing through the lines in order to break down the opposition. This result means that the girls still remain undefeated this year which just goes to show how much the team have improved and developed.
