Today, we had a fantastic visit from the team at Weymouth Library, who introduced us to this year’s exciting Summer Reading Challenge: Story Garden!
What’s the Story Garden Challenge?
The Summer Reading Challenge is a brilliant way to keep your reading skills growing over the summer holidays. This year’s theme, Story Garden, invites you to:
Read 6 library books of your choice
or
Attend fun events at the library – every event you join counts towards your challenge!
The challenge runs from now until September, giving you plenty of time to explore new stories, discover your favourite authors and enjoy book-related activities.

- Keep your reading skills sharp over the holidays
- Earn rewards and certificates for taking part
- Have fun with friends and family at library events
- Help Southill Primary become the TOP school on the leaderboard!
How to join
- Pop down to Weymouth Library and sign up for the Story Garden Summer Reading Challenge.
- Choose your first book (or event) and start your reading adventure.
- Collect stickers and rewards as you go.
- Bring your completed challenge back to school in September – let’s show everyone how much Southill Primary loves reading!
