The Colour Thief

A week to celebrate the colours around us. We have explored the characters, setting and adventures in our story. We took part in lots of activities to make our week colourful.

Here you can see some of us creating a palette of colours from nature – they look beautiful. There was also the opportunity to collect colours from our homes/classrooms to use for cutting and sticking – here are some of our creations. We had great fun dancing with the trolls too!

We had some special playdough to use this week – here are some of our challenges. We made numerals and also created our own aliens – getting inspiration from the alien in our story.

We enjoyed our drawing club, drawing characters from our story this week. The story also inspired us to design our own planets! Look at our amazing learners.

This week we were introduced to the idea of setting up our own storytelling tins. We talked about this during our snuggly story session on Google Classroom, shared ideas and then set up our own tins at home and in school. We have had great fun making up our own stories with a character, setting, problem and a solution. Look at these amazing tins!

Finally, playdough, planets, pairs and pictures!

George has enjoyed all the learning again this week. He told us all about the playdough numbers and story tin and loved seeing his friends during your Google Meet. He also impressed us with his ‘The Dinosaur and the Snowdrift’ story tin story. Thank you Mrs Puddick, Mrs Kench and Mrs Aitken for all you do to help, support and inspire our children especially during these difficult times. We really appreciate it.
