‘The Southill School Rock, Paper, Scissors World Championship’

‘The Southill School Rock Paper Scissors World Championship’

Building Learning Power always remains at the very top of the agenda to mark a new year. Teaching children life skills that will help them in all aspects of their life. This afternoon, Captain Shelby and Agent Buzzbee made their way out onto the playground today to see how Reciprocal and Resilient the children could be during ‘The Southill School Rock Paper Scissors World Championship’.

You know the drill…you can choose rock, paper or scissors as your weapon of choice. If the children didn’t win, they would become the supporter of the person that they lost to. After several rounds of this, two children were left with a number of children cheering them on as they battled it out to the bitter end. Congratulations to both our winners who showed excellent reciprocity and resilience throughout the contest.

The children then played a team game of rock paper scissors. The aim of this game was to hop across several hoops on the playground until they came face-to-face with a player on the opposing team. If they won, they could continue jumping onward and then face the next opponent in-line. Whichever team could reach the other end of the course first were declared the winners.

A fantastic way to spend the afternoon and congratulations to all the children who received a postcard for their efforts. Who knew a simple game could be so fun!
