Welcome to Year 4!

WOW! What an afternoon it has been. The children experienced being in Year 4 for the first time and they seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.

We began by learning each other’s names and then discussed what would equal a successful year. We created a ‘Class Contract’ which we have all signed as we all agree that by following these rules, it will result in an epic year…

CLASS CONTRACT

  1. We will be the best version of ourselves we can be
  2. We will be Resilient, Resourceful, Reflective and Reciprocal
  3. We will listen when our teacher is talking
  4. We will choose to be kind, sensible and treat others with respect
  5. We will look after the classroom and the resources
  6. We will always be honest
  7. Do not talk over each other (shout out)
  8. Be a 2%
  9. Do not distract others when they are trying to learn
  10. We will be the best class in the school!

We then wanted to make the classroom feel like home when we return in September. The children therefore created a self-portrait in a ‘Bitmoji style’ ready to put up on the display as the children enter the classroom.

We ended with a few selfies and you should have received some information about the team teaching your children next year and some ideas for what you could do for home learning over the holidays linked to our topic…INVASION!

Well done, Year 3. You stepped up to the mark and we are all very much looking forward to welcoming you back into the classroom in September.

Mr. Prior, Mrs. Wallis, Mrs. Walkinshaw and Mrs. Harris.
