What a FANTASTIC Football Match!
Mr. Prior felt like it was a good time to give the football-mad children in years 3 and 4 a friendly football match. Chickerell very kindly obliged and so the stage was set…
In the first half, despite never having played together as a team before, Southill really took the game to Chickerell. With some excellent defending, passing and crosses into the box, we were very unlucky to not be a few goals in front. Chickerell regrouped late into the second half and managed to score two very good goals on the counter-attack. 0-2 at half time.
After a positive team talk, the children went out ready for the second half. Again, some excellent opportunities, however we just couldn’t put the ball in the net. Chickerell managed to score one more goal making the final score 0-3.
A very impressive match full of enthusiasm, determination and (most importantly) happy children. Based on this performance, I’m sure another football match will be right around the corner…

It was lovely to watch two very enthusiastic, evenly matched sides playing some entertaining football. All the boys involved were a great credit to both schools…well done!
