Year 1 Star Readers

As another term ends, so does the Year 1 Star Reader chart tallying up all those children who are reading at home every day.   For a full week of reading (resulting in 5 ticks), gold stars are rewarded which are collected over the term.  Well done to all these Star Readers gaining a total of 6 stars or more, receiving a certificate and a special prize in recognition of their efforts!

Reading every day isn’t always easy, especially as we are all so busy after school with clubs and other exciting things.  However children who read daily do better in school, we see the results of this in class.  Therefore our school policy is to read just 10-15 mins at home every day, a few pages when busy is enough to succeed and to keep our love for reading in bloom!

All scores are now reset for our new term in January, lets see if we can break the record and have even more children joining us to celebrate before our February half-term.

Well done all
