Year Three, You’re Amazing

Year Three, You’re Amazing

Strange times and it saddens me that this has happened. Today will be a very unusual and, possibly emotional, day. But we all have to try and remain positive. I have had an incredible year so far with all of you and who knows what the future will bring. Even losing a day of teaching these children feels like an eternity! IF (and it’s a big if) it means that this year is cut short, then I’ve written a poem to show just how truly special you guys are…

I cannot believe this is happening,

It doesn’t seem at all fair.

You filled my days with joy,

And now out the window I stare.

You’re all amazing children,

Who knew how to brighten my day.

Teaching you has been amazing,

Whether it was maths, writing or a play.

I loved reading you stories,

And going through a tricky sum.

We will see each other again,

so try not to feel sad and glum.

I loved hearing you laugh,

It was great seeing you achieve.

You have been an outstanding class,

that I want you to believe!

For now look after each other,

and remember I’m thinking of you.

You’re a cracking class of characters,

I hope you’ve enjoyed this year too.

I hope that this year isn’t over,

I hope I’ll teach you all again.

Mums and dads I am here for you,

Please don’t think you’re being a pain.

For now, have a go at some learning,

Play and have fun at home.

I would much rather be with you at work,

than be stuck at home alone.

The virus will be over soon,

and life will go back to how it should be.

Me acting like a fool for your entertainment,

Just you wait and see…

Look after yourselves, stay safe and I will promise to keep in touch. We will be a whole class again…positive thoughts, people! 🙂
