Key Stage 2
From unit 1 the children move into unit 2, (years 3 and 4) and then to unit 3 (years 5 and 6).
Key Stage 2 builds upon the learning that takes place in Key Stage 1.
We continue to provide a curriculum with a wider variety of opportunities and exciting experiences; but the children also begin to deepen their understanding and extend their skills. Independence and self esteem are key to success and children are supported to do their best whatever their ability or needs.
Our teaching in Key Stage 2 is based on the core subjects of the National Curriculum.
Enrichment opportunities are provided to motivate the learners, including many trips and visits, residential programmes, (for all year groups 3-6), the use of our extensive grounds, an opportunity to learn at least one musical instrument and the use of technology across the curriculum.
Standards at the end of Key Stage 2 are consistently well above the national average.
