Thursday activities

Picture of the day: Here are two pictures to look at. What can you see? What are the bees doing? Can you describe the flowers? You can write about one or both of the pictures. Ideas for sentence starters include: The bee is….. The bees…….   I like…….. Look at…….. or any other ideas you have.

Phonics: Letters and Sound lesson 10.

Phase 4 challenge: Some more words with letter blends at the beginning to write in phoneme frames. Today, there is a mixture of blends – pl, cl and bl. Look out for the digraph ck which goes in one box on your phoneme frame. There is a colour word here – maybe you could find some black things around your house or draw and write in black.

Reading: I have seen a few photos of your book nooks coming in – here are some to share with you to celebrate how we are enjoying our reading at home. Keep reading and finding cosy places to suggle up. You could read your school books or some of your favourite books at home.

Maths: White Rose Day 4 of The Very Busy Spider. Today you will be looking at doubling, halving and sharing.

Craft: Why not make some flowers for the bees? Here are some craft ideas. If you do not have resources for these, you could draw some flowers in a garden picture.

This first one uses kitchen paper, pens, straws and sticky tape to make a paper flower.

This second idea uses egg boxes, paint, card, glue and paper.

I hope you enjoy finding out more about bees today. Tomorrow will be Funny Friday so watch out for singing, dancing, craft fun and spider challenges.
