5th June

It’s Funny Friday!

Phonics: Letters and Sounds lesson 29. Another lesson to review what we know and try out some tricky challenges.

Story: This week we have read The Snail and the Whale by Julia Donaldson. Here is a similar story – Sharing a Shell. I hope you enjoy listening to the story today.

Sharing a Shell story reading

Picture of the day: A picture to make you smile! What is happening in this picture today? I wonder where they are going? Write a sentence or more to describe the picture. Sentence starter ideas: I can see…….. There is……..   The frog…….

Listen carefully when you sound out the word frog – listen for the letter blend at the start of the word. You will also need to listen carefully if you sound out the word snail. Just try your best. Use your sound board to help you, especially with any tricky words.

Maths: White Rose Maths Day 5. A chalk activity today – why not try this outside?

Spiral Art

Look back at these art ideas from earlier in the week and choose a different one to try today. The paper plate spiral looks fun. You could try filling a page with ‘lots of spirals’ in different colours. Or you could try some observational drawing of a snail.

Target Games

Take some chalk outside and draw large circles for targets on the playground (or take hoops with you to use on the grass). Find some things to throw/roll and aim at the target – you could use plastic balls, small pebbles or plastic beanbag-style equipment.

Let’s Boogie!

Try out a new episode of Oti’s Boogie Beebies for a Funny Friday!

Remember it is tidy Friday too! Have a great weekend and I will be back on Monday with some more learning ideas.
