Arithmetic

Mental Maths Quiz 6:5 complete the remaining questions. See Home learning task dated 3rd April!

Maths No problem

Answers to Workbook pages 117/118:

Chapter 12 Lesson 11

Complete the In Focus task on page 152 of Textbook B. Read the Let’s Learn section (also on page 152) to help you complete the In Focus task if you need to.

Do you have a cereal box or something similar  that you could open up to see its ‘net’? What shapes is the net made up of? How many similar shapes are there? Can you identify how many faces the 3-D shape has? Can you fold it back to form the original 3-D shape?

Complete Activity Time on page 153. Use thin card instead of paper if you have it. You’ll need to be precise with your measurements if your ‘net’ is to become a 3D shape!

Topic

The Ancient Maya

This half term our learning would have taken us to Mexico. Amongst other things we would have learnt about the Maya civilisation. Use the link below to see what you can discover about the Mayas yourself.  Use the headings provided in the link, ‘An introduction to the ancient Maya’ and ‘What was life like for the ancient Maya?’  to begin an information text about the Maya civilisation. Include illustrations to bring your text to life. Over the weeks we will add more subheadings to our texts.
