Monday 30th March

Welcome back – it’s Marvellous Monday!

Phonics: This week we will be looking at 2-syllable words (words with 2 parts). When blending to read (sounding out) or segmenting to spell/write these words, try to split them into 2 parts to help you. An example could be cobweb – read the cob first, then web, then put them together.

Try reading and writing these words together: cobweb      exit    zigzag      rooftop    You could draw a picture to match each word.

Writing: Picture of the day – sound out each word carefully, remember finger spaces between words – try challenging yourself by writing 2 sentences or by adding ‘and’ into your sentence.

Reading: Have a look at this website – phonics play comics. Go into the comics section, then choose a comic from the PHASE 3 section to read. I had a look at the comic ‘Moon Farm Park’ which is great. Try this one, then you could follow this up by drawing your own farm park and writing labels on it.
