Tuesday 24th March

Welcome to the first of our daily learning pages.

Phonics: Top tips – use the sounds books regularly to review all sounds and tricky words covered at school. This week please focus on reviewing these sounds and using them to write words together e.g. toad (oa), food….. Have a look at this useful link to the Alphablocks guide to phonics and focus on the Letter Teams (digraphs and trigraphs) yellow section and the video too.

Phonics update

Writing: Top tips – encourage children to sound out their own words to write, using their sound boards to help them. The words might not look the same as how we write them but it is important that the children use the sounds they know e.g. shoo (shoe). Today – write a sentence about this picture. Try starting your sentence with The and remember finger spaces.

Reading: Read one of your school books together today. Look out for digraphs, trigraphs and tricky words!

Maths: We have recently watched Numberblocks episode about number 10. Make collections of 10 around your home e.g. pegs, socks, lego bricks, cars.

Other: Put some music on and dance together – just like we do at school.

Have fun
