A Masterclass in Colour

 

This half term, Year Four have been learning about colour theory. Which colours contrast each other, and which complement one another nicely when creating a piece of art.

On Monday afternoon, the children concluded their art topic by first completing a quiz, showing what they had learnt about colour theory. They then put this knowledge into practice by creating a composition on a canvas, using either warm or cool colours. Finally, they became art critics and discussed what they felt had gone well and what they perhaps could improve on if they were to do the piece of art again.

Mrs Aitken has loved these sessions and informs me that the children have made so much progress with their knowledge and choices when selecting colours for their artwork.
